In the January 6, 2011 and May 9, 2012 Federal Register, announcements were published stating that future editions of the NWPL will include all Wetland and Upland vascular plant species with periodic updates. This merging of the wetland species with upland species will essentially treat all of the North American vascular flora north of Mexico. The merged list will include all accepted names, associated synonyms and state-level distributions. BONAP has nearly completed the merger in draft form and plans for release the final version to the Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Plant Website in 2013.
